Upcoming Carolina hosting Eagles

Tailgate vs Philly - We have a month break so we have time to plan a great menu when we host the Eagles. Philly cheese steaks are in order, cooked to order, inline on the buffet on our spacious griddle. We'll have a slab of beef thinly cut with onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and choice of cheese. Heck get them all for the best experience. I'm having a line of horsey sauce on mine too.

From the NC coast we expect to have in season oysters and very likely some shrimp to boil.

Wings and great sides too. We are at full stride.

There is a DJ this time too.

This is Sunday Night Football.

Carolina vs Saints

Tomorrow's weather is questionable. If its raining they'll be no tv to watch the game.

We are still looking for a man's wedding band lost last week. See Tree, Paul, or Reggie if you find it.

Sunday's sausage for jambalaya.

Lastly, just a courtesy reminder. As I unpack from tailgate...maybe even days later, I'm finding food items, dirty utinsels and such in places where they shouldn't be. Please place all dirty utinsels in the bus pan. Throw away food or pack it up and take it. Please don't throw trash in the back of the pickup.

There was significant damage to the big Weber ranch grill. The new caster wheels were distroyed either rolling to the truck or somewhere in loading. They'll need to be replaced. Not that expensive but it takes time for delivery of parts. Fortunately we have a three week break after Sunday. I'll have the small Weber this Sunday.

It all makes extra work turning everything around.

Thanks for everyone who sets ups and tears down this great tailgate. See you Sunday.

A Kindred Spirit

This weekend I met up with a kindred spirit on Twitter. Check out his tailgate trailer at an App State Game.

He lives in Monroe, NC so I've gotta meet this guy.

Our Tailgates at Extreme Tailgate Society

Our tailgates are fairly large by most standards. Usually 50 to 100 people will show. First come, first served. Let us know you are coming please.

We don't usually have a lot of deserts. Oh banana pudding, or may some breakfast donuts. Mary Ann does cook some mean pound cake. There's cookies too but the main food is meat.

We don't encourage drinking games or corn hole. That's for college tailgates. This is NFL tailgating. Bring your own booze.

We serve quality meats, beef, pork, chicken and seafood along with sausages, brats and serious hot dogs.

Menus are planned and matched to the opponent and weather. Oysters and chili in cold months.

We have large covered areas for hot sun and rain. The shelters disappear in the cold months when sunshine is a premium.

Our side dishes reflect our region and Carolina heritage. You may see collard greens, Brunswick Stew, succotash, and cornbread.

We ask for help setting up and tearing down from able bodied participants. A $ donation is nice too to cover our weekly food costs. It all starts and tears down in 5 hours.

We have a great playlist of music.

We have two RVs and two private bathrooms. Do the right thing and poop before you come.

It is a 14 minute walk to the stadium gates from our tailgate site. Leave the tailgate by 12:15 in order to get to the stadium, through security, get your beer, and your seat by the end of the national anthem.

College Tailgating

Today is opening Saturday for NCAA college football and therefore opening Saturday for the tailgating masses. No preseason practice for these guys. They have to come out of the gate running. Here are some observations from my Twitter Feed.

This major school has tailgaters showing up out of shape and distracted. I can see why this guy is drinking hard liquor at 8:30 am. Shame, shame. Go to a spots bar next week.

These guys of The Red Rage have got what it takes. Louisville Cardinal fans should be proud. Extreme!

My college App State is making a decent stand with their limited space. Extreme Tailgate could not work within these confines. Good job guys!

Two Weeks Folks

While our focus is usually great food at professional football games, we'll occasionally step out and do some college tailgating like we did yesterday at the UNC USC home opener.

We had ideal seats for the view of the gigantic ballsack. It made a great deal of needed shade in the afternoon heat.

We own this lot.

See you in two weeks for the Panthers home opener.
